The project involved creating a self contained “granny” flat within the existing brick garage, of which only the two boundary walls were retained.
This was to be a one bedroom space with kitchen,
bathroom and living facilities for members of the family and guests to use, which could be accessed
independently from the main house.
The result was a predominantly glass structure with visual links to the main house while still retaining privacy and a sense of independence.
