Alterations and additions

Budget: $247,000

Builder: Elder Period Homes

Completed: 1998

The Existing Residence was an Edwardian stucco and weatherboard home, which was run down but structurally in sound condition.

The owners wanted to retain the original house and bring it back to life with an extension, which would aesthetically tie in with the original structure.

The three main rooms of the original house were retained with the remainder of the existing house and lean-to demolished. The aim was to maximise natural light into the house, and link the new living area to the outside, and this was achieved by constructing a large dog-leg verandah which wraps around the living / meals area and formal dining room.

The result is a grand Edwardian two-storey residence with exudes old world charm with attention to detail.
